Today we're launching the Highlight beta: one place to see everything you're working on and act on it. It connects your apps, screen, meetings, and context, creating a command center that understands your working world.
For me, that idea has its roots in games. From modding and building them to leading product at Discord, I've spent much of my career thinking about what makes an online world feel alive. The best games bring an entire world together: people, possibilities, new levels that open up as you realize your unique power. Extraordinary abilities start to feel like a natural extension of your own and you decide what to do with them.
We're bringing that feeling to work.
You didn't sign up for this part of work
Most days, work feels nothing like that. Operators kept telling me the same thing: their jobs are consumed by the busywork around the work. Recruiters spend the gaps between interviews writing follow-ups across email, Slack, and their ATS. Marketers leave a great brainstorm, then lose hours turning it into a brief and getting cross-functional teams aligned. Ops leads dig through updates across five different places to answer one question.
Why can't we spend our days on the things we actually want to be doing? Much of the industry's answer is to automate the job itself. I think that's backwards.
I don't want a future where busywork becomes the work – where people become prompt writers and information hunters and companies blur together into sameness. I want one where people stay in control and use AI to reach further than they could alone. I want expanded possibility, not predictability.
That's what Highlight is for.
How Highlight works
It knows and acts on all your context. Highlight brings information across your tools, meetings, and screen together. It doesn't stop at integrations; our screen context technology allows Highlight to see the nuances and routines of your daily work, across any app you let it access. From day one, you can use Highlight Chat to find what you need: open items for a launch, decision trails behind a project, meeting notes and lost documents. Switching between tools and digging through threads become a thing of the past.
It moves things forward proactively. Highlight anticipates what needs your attention, captures commitments as they come up, and prepares next steps – follow-ups, briefs, project updates – for the appropriate app, before you have to ask. The recruiter walks out of an interview with the scorecard and emails already drafted. The marketer leaves the brainstorm with the brief already started. When a process repeats, a Skill handles the familiar steps with fresh context. Each brief or update builds on what Highlight has learned about how you work.
You hold the controller. Highlight does the legwork. You review it, shape it, and decide what happens next. You see what Highlight knows, choose what it can access, and set limits on what it does. Your context belongs to you, and it shouldn't tie you to any single model provider. As AI gets more capable, people's control over it has to grow too.
Why shouldn't work be delightful?
When software is well made, something complicated feels simple. You find what you need, see what you can do, and are empowered to keep going. What remains is the conviction that someone understood what would make the experience better and more rewarding for the person on the other end. That's the standard we're holding Highlight to.
Bring your work to Highlight
Download the Highlight beta here.
Connect the tools you already use. Bring Highlight into your next meeting, then review the summary and follow-ups it prepares. Edit the drafts, make them yours, and send them to the right app without leaving Highlight. When you need to catch up, ask Highlight Chat to fill in the gaps.
The best games make you feel capable of more than you imagined. Work should feel that way too.
