Control
You decide what Highlight can access and what information is shared. You can change your preferences or delete your data at any time.
Not for Sale
Highlight does not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers, ever.
No AI Training
None of our LLM partners are permitted to use your conversations, screen activity, or meeting transcripts to train their models.
Encryption
Your messages, chats, and activity are fully encrypted when stored at rest. Transcripts and meeting summaries are encrypted immediately after processing and before they ever reach our database.
How Highlight handles your data
Audio privacy
When Highlight listens during a meeting or conversation, it transcribes audio in real time on your device. The raw audio is processed locally if you are on the free tier or in the cloud if you are on a paid plan. The cloud processing enables us to ensure accuracy. Once transcribed, the raw audio is immediately discarded.
Transcript storage
A local copy of your transcripts is kept on your device for quick access across sessions. A second encrypted copy is stored in our database to keep your history available on other devices. You can delete either copy at any time.
Cloud storage
Your meeting notes and chat are encrypted and stored securely in Supabase, so your data is protected at rest and in transit. Your context engine, the information Highlight uses to understand you and your work, lives in object storage on Google Cloud, giving it the reliability and scale to keep up with everything you do. Together, this means you can take Highlight anywhere: switch devices, pick up where you left off, and access your full history without missing a beat.

Choose exactly which applications, websites, or windows you want to include or exclude from screen capture.
Delete your data
You can delete your Highlight data at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent and complete.
Highlight continuously observes your screen to identify moments where it can help by surfacing reminders, staging actions, or kicking off workflows at the right time. Before any screen content leaves your device, Highlight classifies it to detect sensitive data and keeps that information local. Only what's needed to assist you is ever processed further.
